About Southern Districts Cricket Club, Darwin

Get to know The Crocs

Our Story

Southern Districts Cricket Club Inc. has been a proud part of the Northern Territory cricket community since its founding. Based at Gerry Wood Oval in the Freds Pass Reserve, the club competes in the Darwin & Districts Cricket Competition and offers inclusive programs for juniors, seniors, and women — fostering participation and growth at every level.

Established in 1981 with the formation of a D Grade team, the club became an incorporated association in 1982. A turf wicket was installed in 1985, paving the way for the club's entry into the A Grade competition in 1987.

Today, Southern Districts Cricket Club continues to promote teamwork, development, and community spirit through the game of cricket.

Our Club Song

Down the Stuart Highway,

Off the beaten track,

South of the Berrimah Line,

You'll find the Red, White, and Black

You may not always see us,

But you know we're always there,

And when you've laid your eyes on us,

You'll be frozen by the glare

SSShhhhh!

(Whisper)

Silent, and cunning we stalk another prey,

We do not roar, we do not charge, it may take all day,

Patiently awaiting for when the time is right,

Just one move is all it takes

(Shout) AND ONE HELL-UVA BITE!

So, pack your bloody passports,

And come on to the Pass

The District Crocs are here to play;

We kicked your flamein' ARSE!
